5 Non-Quick-Fix Ways to Healthy Living

sustainable healthy living

I often get asked what my approach is to help people live healthier lives. I will tell you this: it isn’t a quick fix. We don’t do extreme diets or unsafe workouts here. No matter if your goal is to lose weight, to gain confidence, or to be consistent, there isn’t a shortcut. Healthy living is an ongoing commitment.

This isn’t to be discouraging, but this is to guide you AWAY from the latest fad telling you that there is an overnight way to see X result.

Realizing that there isn’t a magic pill to true healthy living is going to save you time in the long run. This means, that you can start adding in healthy habits and making realistic changes that start to move you towards your goals.

Whether you are new to the gym, getting restarted, or aiming for consistency, how do you define healthy? How can we create our goals from that “healthy” place instead of a restrictive one?

When we think about “heathy living” it generally isn’t an onslaught of processed diet products & energy drinks within a critically low calorie limit. It is balance of whole foods, enjoyment, and movement that supports our body for long-term well-being.

Part of what I teach is to help you understand what you need to achieve your desired outcome sustainably. All this work is highly individualized but starting to implement a few of the following tips will get you on your way.

Five Non-Quick-Fix Ways to Healthy Living

  1. Eat at least five servings of vegetables every day
  2. MOVE your body in a way that feels good regularly
  3. Eat a balanced of carbs/protein/fat at least 2-3 times per day
  4. Eat ENOUGH calories daily (I can help you determine this)
  5. Learn to manage your stress levels & incorporate this daily

Mostly, stop restarting extreme and restrictive “quick fix” diets that don’t work. There is a reason that they don’t work, and they may be doing more harm than good. Come work with me instead and this will be the last time you need to start another fitness program.
